Who it is for

Good fit for

Not a fit for

✕ Keepers who need sump space without adding one separately.
✕ Buyers expecting a complete kit; it still needs a stand, a sump or rear filtration, and lighting.
✕ Tangs and other open-water fish that need 75+ gallon swimming room.

Compatibility math

Downstream requirements

tank gallons drive heater watts, flow GPH, skimmer rating, and light spread

Example: 20g points to about 50-100W of heat and 600 GPH mixed-reef flow.

The tank is the constraint every other component has to satisfy.

Risk notes

A tank can look affordable until you account for the light spread, skimmer room, stand access, and upgrade path it forces.
