Affiliate Disclosure
Last updated: April 2026
ReefCrafter may participate in affiliate programs run by reef and aquarium retailers. When you click an outbound vendor link on this site ("Buy at Bulk Reef Supply", "Buy at Saltwater Aquarium", etc.) and make a qualifying purchase within that vendor's tracking window, ReefCrafter may earn a commission on the sale. The price you pay is the same whether you click through us or go directly to the vendor.
This disclosure is provided in compliance with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising (16 CFR Part 255).
How we use affiliate revenue
Affiliate commissions are one way ReefCrafter can stay free. We do not charge users or hold inventory. When an affiliate program is active, vendors may pay us a small percentage when you buy gear through a tracked vendor link.
How recommendations are chosen
Our compatibility engine picks gear based on the rules of reef-keeping — skimmer size for your bioload, light coverage for your tank footprint, heater wattage for your volume, and so on. Recommendations are not influenced by which vendor pays us more. When affiliate relationships are active, we still surface competing vendors side-by-side where the catalog has enough data, so you can pick where to buy.
Our affiliate partners
As of writing, ReefCrafter is applying to or may participate in:
- Bulk Reef Supply (Impact Radius)
- Saltwater Aquarium (in-house program)
- Aquarium Specialty (in-house program)
- Amazon Associates (fallback)
We may add or remove partners over time. This page will be updated when the partner list changes meaningfully.
Cookies
Affiliate programs use cookies to attribute purchases to the referring site. These cookies typically last 7 to 30 days depending on the vendor. We do not use cookies for cross-site advertising or to build user profiles.
